Would a healthy person go to the hospital or see a Doctor?

Then why would you wait until you're "perfect" or "living right" to go to church, to have a relationship with Jesus or to be saved?

Sometimes well-meaning Christians tell people that they have to “clean up their lives” before God will accept them, but that is not what we see in Scripture. God certainly expects us to leave our sin, but that comes as a part of our salvation, not as a prerequisite. We are not able to clean ourselves up without God’s help. We wouldn't walk into an Emergency room if we aren't having any symptoms or health problems, so why would we wait to be "right" to be saved? A lot of people decide not to seek Jesus because they don't want to give up certain things in their life - they feel as though it will be boring or not for them. Look at it like this, a smoker, a drinker, a person on a diet . . . they decide one day that they are going to give up what is holding them back but does that happen overnight or in a day? Absolutely not, it takes dedication and mind set. The same applies with Jesus. Once we decide that he is the one we want to follow and begin to have a relationship with him, the old you fades away - desires you once had will be no more. Each day you'll notice a change in your being and you'll find joy in new things.

Come as you are . . .

We most defiantly come as we are, as I mentioned before there's no need to prep ourselves for Jesus. It's important to surround yourself with people who are believers in Christ to help you on your journey - will there be temptations, unfortunately yes but there hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it 1 Corinthians 10:13. This also isn't an excuse to do as we please because we aren't perfect and Jesus understands - churches identified with the emerging/emergent church or hipster movements, among others, sometimes take the grace of God and turn it into licentiousness (Jude 1:4) by teaching that it makes no difference how you live, as long as you believe. If you come to Christ in an illicit relationship, some say Christ will accept you just as you are and sanctify that relationship but we will get into that at a later time. I wanted to share with you that there isn't a reason for you to wait, come as you are . . . all are welcomed. Don't let the lies of the devil fill you with doubt and insecurities, you got this! You were fearfully and wonderfully made my friends - you were born to do great things!
